Phil’s P.O.V I wake up when my alarm clock goes off at 5am. I shut it off and roll over in my bed to try and attempt to go back to sleep. There was once a time when Dan thought working at a bar would be cool. That time is not now. It’s 2am and Dan is starting to clean up the now empty bar area, after this he can finally go home. Just as he finishes wiping down the last table, a couple extremely drunk men walk in. “Sorry, but the bar is closed, I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.” Dan tries to sound as polite as possible, but that’s difficult in the early hours of the morning. “C’mon, just let us have a drink, yeah?” The bigger of the two men pleads, the other man doesn’t seem to be able to stand properly, let alone talk.

The world is a vastly different place than it was 2 years ago. For one thing, the government has been nearly totally destroyed, only a few more progressive senators surviving the revolution. The North has also been practically destroyed. The city that had once stood so grandly now all but turned to rubble. The inhabitants had left it long ago, the looting of the now homeless emptying the houses to the point of being nothing more than shells. A lot of people died too. Whole families wiped out. Phil feels like crying as his gaze falls upon the ruins of Parliament House. How many people were in there? How many people have been injured? How many people have died? An overwhelming sadness washes over Phil. He failed. He failed and now people are dead. He doesn’t know why he feels responsible for this, he just does. Something tells him that none of this would’ve happened if he had just let Taint go without fighting him. He should have left this for the proper authorities to handle, and not become a vigilante. There’s no use stopping now though, what’s done is done, and Phil needs to stop this once and for all.

Dan’s P.O.V Today’s the day Phil comes home and I couldn’t be happier. Him coming home meant two things. One, he’s getting better. Two, we can cuddle properly. While he was in hospital I couldn’t cuddle up to Phil like I would usually do at home, the hospital beds were too small to fit both of us. He hobbles into the apartment and I follow closely behind, he can’t have the cast taken off his left leg for at least another two weeks.
